AFTER eight days of heartache, at least the family now has closure.

The family of Siyabonga Sgwebela (27), from KwaMancinza, north of Durban was worried sick when they heard he’d allegedly been beaten in a warehouse at Lindelani last Saturday.

His family members were informed on the day, but were unable to find his body at the warehouse.

They reported him missing and searched for him with no luck.

But they finally found closure on Monday afternoon when they found his body at a Pinetown mortuary.

Siyabonga’s mum-in-law Nozipho Mchunu (41) said they heard on the radio that the body of an unknown man was recovered in KwaDabeka on Saturday.

She said they heard Siyabonga’s body was spotted by a passerby in the KwaDabeka bush, who reported it to the cops.

“We identified him although his body was starting to rot. We are positive it was him, but he was in a terrible state.

“We heard that some of the people behind Siyabonga’s death are from the area and are known. We are really not happy with the way cops are handling the matter.”

Cops have not arrested the suspects.

“Maybe they think Siyabonga deserved to be killed because he was a drug addict,” Nozipho said. KZN police spokeswoman Colonel Thembeka Mbele confirmed that the case was opened at KwaDabeka.
