STRAND residents are very worried about their children’s safety this festive season.

Two young men in their 20s were stabbed to death in separate incidents!

The body of a 22-year-old man from Lwandle was found in Michael Street, Nomzamo, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Resident Noxolo Madyum (29) said she had heard noises coming from the street at night but didn’t go out to check.

As the SunTeam was arriving at about 6am, friends of the dead man pulled out knives and chased after three boys who claimed to be friends with the boy accused of stabbing the man to death.

They caught the 16-year-old boy and stabbed him in the face and neck.

Cops arrived and rushed him to hospital.

The father of the dead man, who only gave his name as Mbotho, told the People’s Paper: “I know my son terrorised many people.”

On Monday morning, residents on their way home from a tavern found a body with stab wounds in Ralarala Street in Lwandle.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut confirmed the two deaths to the SunTeam.

He said cops are investigating both murders.

Anyone with information can phone Lwandle police on 021 845 2060 or 08600 10111.
