COPS are looking for the mum of a three-month-old baby boy who was dumped at the offices of the CMR organisation.

The boy was discovered at the offices on Beyers Naude Street in Middelburg, Mpumalanga on Friday.

Police spokeswoman Captain Khanyisile Zwane said the baby was clean and a feeding bottle and nappies were left next to him.

A letter, in English and Swati, was found with the baby. It said the baby’s name was Junior and he was born on 3 August. There was no surname.

The mum asked not to be traced because she could not raise the child as she was a magosha.

She asked social workers to find the boy a foster family who would love and raise him.

“My work does not allow me to love children as I am a sex worker.

“I do not know the father. As you will understand, my work is demanding. Adoption is good for this baby,” the letter said.

Zwane said the child was taken for a medical checkup and police were waiting for a medical report. The baby was taken to a safe place.

A case of child abandonment is being investigated.
