Two people were hospitalised after they were shot at, while seated in a car outside a tavern in Verulam.
The incident reportedly happened on Sunday night.
According to RUSA spokesperson Prem Balram when they arrived at the scene, they established that the victims were seated in a Toyota Corolla, when two unknown men come up to the vehicle and fired a volley of shots at them.
The gunmen then got into a white bakkie which sped off from the scene,” Balram said.
One of the victims was treated for a gunshot wound to his face while the second victim sustained gunshot wounds to his back and his right arm.
Balram said both men were treated on the scene and transported to hospital in a stable condition.
“Several spent 9mm cartridges were recovered at the scene,” Balram added.
The motive for the shooting has not been established at this stage.
