ZANELE said her lover wants her to die.
The man apparently walks around with a loaded gun and has allegedly told Zanele that he has five bullets: four are for Zanele, her daughter and two sisters and the fifth is for him.
Zanele Ngwenya (35) from Komatipoort, Mpumalanga, claimed that two months ago her boyfriend (38) tried to throttle her.
She said he even burned her house, thinking she was inside – but she wasn’t.
“My ancestors are fighting for me daily,” said Zanele. “Last month I was asleep when he throttled me, but I later woke up with a swollen neck.
“And on Sunday something told me not to sleep in my house, only to find my property in ashes the next morning.”
Zanele, who is a sangoma, said she feared for her daughter’s and sisters’ lives.
“I have strong ancestors who alert me when something is about to happen, that is why I am not that worried that he burned my house, because he will be punished harshly by my ancestors.
“The greatest fear I have is that he will shoot my daughter and sisters,” said Zanele.
The mother of two said her boyfriend, who is originally from Mozambique, is jealous and always accuses her of cheating.
“He is very possessive and stalks me all the time. He threatens to hurt me by killing my daughter first.
“I am scared he will do it, as he is suicidal.”
The SunTeam tried to meet with the boyfriend, but he was away in Mozambique.
When Daily Sun called him, he said: “I will never kill her or her family.
“I was just scaring her to stop her cheating on me because I am a respected married man with three beautiful wives, so for her to cheat on me makes me look useless.”
Police spokesman Captain Magonseni Nkosi said a case of arson was opened and cops are investigating matter.
