LOCK up your chocolates – “Sugar Daddy” is in town!
This is the warning of a video that’s been shared thousands of times online, showing a man stealing chocolates at a filling station.
CCTV footage shows the man pretending to be talking on his cellphone as he loads six chocolate bars into his pocket.
The man, called “Sugar Daddy”, was caught on video at the Engen garage in Heidedal, Mangaung on Saturday.
And the next day he was back for more!
Only this time the manager, who had earlier noticed the missing chocolates and viewed the CCTV footage, alerted staff members to be on the lookout.
They saw the man enter the shop again, pretending to be talking on his cellphone, but the cashiers shouted at him.
The man then removed the chocolates from his waist pocket and put them back on the shelf before driving off in a white Toyota Etios.
A staff member said the man obviously had a thing for Cadbury dairy milk chocolate. He told Daily Sun: “He only stole fruit and nut and biscuit flavours.”
The filling station’s management uploaded the two videos to their Facebook page and it went viral, getting more than 2 000 shares.
Many laughed while others expressed their shame over Sugar Daddy’s actions.
Zamo Dlamini said: “I am sure he opened a spaza with those chocolates.”
The filling station manager, who asked not to be named, said they decided to expose the man rather than opening a case.
“He stole six chocolates valued at R114 on Saturday. We decided to post the video and want his family, children, wife, friends and relatives to see what kind of man he really is. We also
want to warn other filling stations,” said the manager.
