A Limpopo man who was found with his mother's skeleton was denied bail by the Lebowakgomo Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Bonolo Lesetja (21) appeared before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate Court and his case was postponed for further Police investigations.

Lesetja's mother died and was buried in 2001 but from December last year, he felt a need to exhume her remains.

He told the cops he started digging in December and finished in January.

Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said that members of the community noticed him moving around the village carrying a human skull and immediately summoned the police.

Ngoepe said upon receiving this report, the Police reacted swiftly and on arrival , they found a whole human skeleton in the suspect's house and arrested him.

"Police have also found a lot of cattle bones in the same house.

We have also found that the suspect sometimes carries his mother's skull inside a bag when he goes to the shopping centres and banks as he believes that will  protect him from any danger," said Ngoepe.

The real motive behind this incident is still not yet clear at this stage but the police investigations will tell as they are still unfolding.
