COPS in Giyani have arrested a 23-year-old man for raping a one-year-old girl.
Police spokersperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the suspect, will appear in the Giyani Magistrate’s Court on a charge of rape.
The Cluster Commander of Giyani Major General Mbhazima Ngobeni thanked the community members who worked closely with the police to ensure that justice was served.
"We salute the community members who assisted in the apprehension of the suspect," Ngobeni said.
Ngobeni said the partnership between police and the communities will ensure that all criminal elements are rooted out of society.
"Criminals live amongst us and if we isolate them they will have no place to hide and we will arrest them," said Ngoveni
