AN MPUMALANGA gogo is appealing to deputy president David Mabuza to help rebuild her house.
Farm dweller Masethu Rasebolai (78), from farm in Bethal told Daily Sun Mabuza built the house when he was premier of Mpumalanga but he didn’t finish it.
Masethu, who is blind, lived on the farm for years before her husband died in 2007. In 2015,the farmer suddenly demolished their house.
“I used my pension money to put a roof on it. They came to demolish it without giving me proper reasons. I still don’t know what made him do it,” she said.
Gogo said after the incident, she went to court but she was told there was no case against the farm owner.
She then had to move back into her mud house, which is in a terrible state.
Masethu said the only person who can help restore her dignity is Mabuza.
“I want my house and my dignity back. Just when everything was coming right, they destroyed what I had. I’m still hurt.”
She said she’s appealing to the deputy president to rebuild her house.
“The situation is very bad. No one is working here and I have to support my six children.”
She said since the incident, the farmer had never contacted her and when she tried to call him, his phone didn’t work.
