THE ANC’S Pule Mabe is back.
This is after the ANC cleared him of sexual harassment allegations.
However, the ANC was ordered to have a sexual harassment policy in place in three months.
On Monday, the ANC announced that the grievance panel, which was set up to investigate the case of sexual assault against Mabe, found him not guilty.
The panel was chaired by former Cosatu president and ANC National Executive Committee member Sdumo Dlamini.
The panel’s formal grievance hearing took place on 15 and 16 January, where they made recommendations to the party.
Among the recommendations was that the party should have a sexual harassment policy.
The panel also recommended that the ruling party address human resource issues raised during the grievance procedure and ensure his reintegration as an employee of the ANC.
Mabe refused to comment, directing the SunTeam to Dlamini, who confirmed that Mabe was returning to his post as spokesman.
He said the ruling party did not have a sexual harassment policy.
“We felt that it was outdated for an organisation such as the ANC not to have a policy.”
Mabe is expected to report for duty next week.
