THE kind hairdresser, well-known for his amazing work with dreadlocks, got angry when a client refused to pay.

That’s when his client pulled out a knife and allegedly stabbed the poor man to death!

But this wasn’t the end of the drama – As horrified bystanders watched, the client then stabbed himself in the stomach and his intestines came tumbling out!

The shocking incident happened on busy Pretoria Street in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni, over the weekend. Manyadzi Mangwende (23) worked on the street and had many clients as he was known for cleaning, washing and twisting dreads exactly the way his customers wanted them.

Witnesses told Daily Sun the trouble started when the customer refused to pay Mnyakazi R200 after he’d spent hours on his dreads.

A fight broke out between the client and the hairdresser.

During the scuffle, the client pulled out a knife and stabbed Mnyakazi to death. When the client realised what he had done, he apparently tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself in the stomach.

A friend of Mnyakazi’s who witnessed the incident told Daily Sun everyone was shocked.

“We all knew Mnyakazi was a good man. How could this man have killed him? He was planning to find a better place to do hair while also working on his music career. Now that will never happen.”

Paramedics certified Mnyakazi dead at the scene and the suspect was sent to hospital.

Kempton Park police spokesman Captain Jethro Mtshali said: “We can confirm that an incident took place after an argument between the victim and suspect.

“A case of murder has been opened with the Kempton Park police and the matter is being investigated.”

Captain Mtshali said the cops were keeping an eye on the suspect.

“At the moment, the man who is believed to have been involved in the incident is in hospital being treated for the injuries he sustained.

“It has not yet been established whether he indeed stabbed himself or was stabbed during the fight. He is being treated in hospital under police guard and as soon as he’s medically fit, he will be formally charged with murder.”
