accreditation

A THUG with a knife who has been terrorising the community of Tembisa has been arrested.

The 28-year-old man was feared by the community as he allegedly never hesitated to use the knife on anyone who refused to follow his orders.

According to police, the man went on a stabbing spree in the area of Umthambeka in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni.

Ekurhuleni Metro police spokesman Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago said: “Community liaison unit members were made aware on Friday morning of a man who allegedly stabbed four victims between last December and this month.”

The suspect was bust on his way to a spaza shop.

Kgasago said the suspect was on bail for another stabbing incident.

“The suspect is implicated in a murder where a victim was stabbed to death in December,” said Kgasago.

“On 3 February, the suspect was seen stabbing yet another victim in broad daylight. A case of attempted murder was opened against him.”

The suspect is being detained at Tembisa Police Station.

He is expected to appear at the Tembisa Magistrates Court soon on charges of murder and attempted murder.
