HOSPITALS SET UP FOR DAY ZERO

accreditation

WESTERN Cape MEC for Health Dr Nomafrench Mbombo visited Lentegeur Hospital on Wednesday.

She was there to inspect the water security at health facilities as part of her department’s water preparedness plan.

Mbombo said she needed to see how ready the hospital was.

“We installed eight boreholes and the hospital already had two.”

She said the hospital would be safe and ready if Day Zero came.

“We are glad the City of Cape Town has agreed to retain the water supply to hospitals and clinics should Day Zero arrive.”

Mbombo said there were certain facilities where they had difficulty finding underground water.

“We are exploring alternatives, including storing water in tanks,” she said.

Prophet Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng, who joined the MEC, said people must be calm because there would be no Day Zero.
