ZODWA BELIEVES cops had no right to arrest Gugu on Wednesday.

“What’s wrong if she is showing her body?” she asked.

“KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF GUGU!”

Zodwa Wabantu said Gugu was fighting for her rights.

“There is no better way to do it than this,” she said.

The dancer who is known for her nudity told Daily Sun that it was not fair that the victim was being arrested.

“But the person implicated is walking free. What is happening in this country?” she asked.

She said a woman showing her body was not disrespectful, especially if for a good cause.

She said she will be in Gauteng today and wants to meet Gugu.

“I want us to be naked together,” she said.

“Women will continue being abused and harassed if we keep quiet and don’t support one another.”

Gugu Ncube, dressed only in her bra and panties, staged a one woman protest on the steps of the Union Buildings in Pretoria on Wednesday.

She said she was tired of being silenced and ignored. She claimed she was a victim of sexual harassment but nobody was doing anything about it.

  • Women and political party members came to support Gugu when she made her first appearance at the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Her case was postponed to 10 April to allow for further investigations.

Gauteng EFF chairwoman Mandisa Mashego said: “We are disappointed after waiting the whole day for the court.”

She said Gugu has lodged a rape case but her case has not been followed through by police.

Mashego said Gugu was violated again during her arrest.

Gugu’s lawyer, Mpho Nefuri, said they will take instructions from Gugu.

“The charges made against her are shocking,” said Nefuri.

“The court was trying to make Gugu remorseful and she didn’t want to entertain them.”

Gugu said: “I wanted to see President Cyril Ramaphosa for my matter to be heard and nothing else.”
