GIRL RESCUED FROM BROTHEL!

A 17-year-old girl has been rescued from a brothel by the Hawks.

Cops spokesman Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso said It is alleged the two suspects abducted the girl at a hiking spot in Lichtenburg and was forced into prostitution, drugs and alcohol consumption.

He said a joint operation by the Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime unit assisted by Mahikeng Tactical Response Team has also led to the arrest of two suspects for alleged abduction, rape, sexual exploitation and trafficking of the 17-year-old Lichtenburg girl.

"The Hawks were tipped off and immediately with the assistance of the TRT went to the suspected house unannounced and arrested the two suspects. 

"The young girl was found inside the house which is alleged to be a prostitution den.  The young girl was rescued and taken to a place of safety."

On Wednesday Natasha Moncho (22) and Mpho Sebati (20) appeared briefly in the Lichtenburg Magistrate Court and they were remanded in custody until their next appearance on 27 June, pending further investigation.

The Provincial Head of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigations Major General Linda Mbana urged the community not to turn a blind eye on situations such as these as reporting these kinds of crimes could potentially save a life.
