PUPILS at a secondary school in Sebokeng, Vaal have been complaining about their principal for some time.

When she allegedly klapped two pupils for being late on Friday, all hell broke loose.

Pupils allegedly broke windows and looted the feeding scheme kitchen.

They even threw stones at a teacher’s car.

Yesterday, the pupils closed the school, demanding that the principal go.

The kids claimed the principal was selling reports and transfers to pupils who had failed their grades to proceed at other schools.

A pupil told Daily Sun: “The principal has been beating kids for a long time and pupils who had only complained behind closed doors have now decided to speak out.”

A source at the school said the teachers were also not happy with the principal.

“Teachers have problems with her as well.

“Ever since she arrived here, the performance of the school has been dropping, from academic to sporting activities,” said the source.

“There are rumours that money has been lost.”

She said several letters of complaint had been sent to the education department, but nothing has been done.

Busisiwe Nyaku said as parents, they were worried.

“We don’t condone this act by the pupils. We want to see the kids back in the classrooms and the matter resolved,” she said.

Gauteng Department of Education spokesman Steve Mabona did not respond before the paper’s deadline for printing.
