FAMILY'S BIG DAY RUINED

accreditation

IT was supposed to be a day of great celebration but it ended in tragedy when members of the same family died in a car crash on Saturday.

Twins and their gogo died at the scene and the twins’ mother is fighting for her life in hospital.

Shongi Sibuyi, her kids Osli and Osi (5) and her mamazala Agnes Sibuyi were travelling from Phalaborwa to Tzaneen to attend her brother Royal Chauke’s wedding.

The wedding had already started when the crash happened.

According to the police, the car had a burst tyre, causing it to veer off the road and hit a tree.

Pastor Rhulani Mabasa, a family member, said it was difficult for them on the day as they couldn’t tell anyone until the wedding was over.

“Royal would have cancelled the wedding,” she said.

Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said a case of culpable homicide was opened and is being investigated.

The family pleaded with SunReaders to help them bury their loved ones as all their money was used for the wedding. Anyone willing to help may contact Daily Sun’s Limpopo team on 082 345 2161.
