ON THURSDAY night, Bongani Mlalazi drank as if it was his last day alive . . .
And when he failed to return home, his family feared he had drunk himself to death!
But the 40-year-old from Soul City squatter camp in Kagiso, Mogale City, was finally found sleeping in the bushes on Saturday after passing out for two days!
The three men who found Bongani had been at the same tavern as him on Thursday night and just happened to be passing by when they spotted him.
One of them said: “At first we thought he was dead.
“But we got closer and saw he was breathing.
“He was wearing the same clothes he had on when we last saw him.”
The men carried Bongani home on their shoulders, and when they arrived at his home, his wife Mantwa (39) cried tears of joy.
She said she had been worried sick after he failed to come home on Thursday.
She had gone to look for him, with no success.
“He drinks but this is the first time he has passed out like this,” she said.
“I think it’s time for Bongani to stop drinking because alcohol is messing him up.”
Bongani couldn’t talk when his friends and wife tried to find out what had happened on Saturday.
When the SunTeam contacted them yesterday, they said he came back to life yesterday morning.
Bongani said: “I must have had too much to drink. This won’t happen again.
“I will think about quitting drinking beer.”
