AFTER her sister dreamt on Friday that she was hit by a car, she died hardly two days later!

Mpho Raselemane (9) drowned while allegedly trying to retrieve a Vaseline container that fell into the dam where they were playing.

Devastated mum Dibuseng Raselemane (27) said Mpho was playing with her friends at a dam at Rhodewal in Bloemfontein.

She said Mpho was told by one of her older friends to fetch a bottle of Vaseline after they’d lost it in the water.

“She apparently slipped and drowned. Her twin sister came running to tell us. I ran to the scene but couldn’t see her.

“One of her friends told me and my neighbour she had disappeared in the dam.

“Residents tried to look for her but the water was too cold and had a strong current,” said the heartbroken Dibuseng.

She said Mpho’s sister dreamt of her being hit by a car.

“We never thought it would come true.

“I didn’t think it was a sign that something bad was going to happen.

“I took it lightly and now I have lost one of my twins.

“My daughter never went to the dam as she couldn’t swim.”

Dibuseng said cops were called to the scene and the child’s body was recovered.

Constable Peter Kareli said an inquest docket was opened.

Kareli said residents who were in the area at the time of the incident tried to assist the girl and called police.
