Cops have confiscated R2.5 million cash at a Vioolsdrift border post in the Northern Cape.
They also arrested two people for money laundering. The two were en route to Cape Town from Namibia.
The two suspects are expected to appear before the local court soon.
Vioolsdrif is a village on the Orange River in the north-western part of South Africa, known as Namaqualand.
