COPS from the west and north of Tshwane have joined forces to tackle crime in the CBD and in kasis.
Six knives and a screwdriver were confiscated on Friday during a search of more than 2 200 pupils at two schools.
The campaign follows the relaunch in January of Operation Fiela by former police minister Fikile Mbalula.
Gauteng police spokeswoman Mathapelo Peters said: “The operation will continue until crime is minimised.”
) In a separate operation, cops in Rietgat made unannounced visits to Senthibele High and Kondelelani primary schools.
Two pupils, aged 17 and 21, were found in possession of dagga.
Cops spokesman Stephen Maluleka told the People’s Paper the 21-year-old was charged.
But the 17-year-old, who is underage, was released into the care of his parents.
