COP SHOT IN LEG DURING FOOT PATROL

A police officer is recovering in hospital after he was shot in the leg while on foot patrol in Manenberg, Cape Town, on Friday, Western Cape police said.

The constable, 30, was walking with his colleagues down Sabie Road, into Sabie Walk, when several shots were fired and he was hit in his right upper leg, said Captain FC van Wyk.

An attempted murder case has been opened.

Van Wyk said police were investigating the circumstances around the shooting.
