RESIDENTS have been asked to report suspicious booze outlets to bust illegal traders.

The Eastern Cape Liquor Board is on a mission to deal harshly with traders who refuse to register.

They are seen as sources of crime and underage drinking.

Board spokesman Mgwebi Msiya said: “Residents are urged to report outlets that trade without a valid licence to the nearest cop station.

“The law demands a licence must be displayed clearly so people can check whether it has been renewed.

“Traders must not miss the deadline on Wednesday. The board will close down businesses that fail to comply.”
A trader told Daily Sun: “It would be better if registration could be brought closer to residents.”
