ANNA Shongwe (46) walked into a tavern and said hello to everybody.

But her friendliness cost her a part of her ear!

She said a jealous woman who was with one of the men she greeted started accusing her of wanting to take her man.

The woman went straight for Anna’s ear and bit her, leaving Anna screaming in pain.

Anna, of Tembisa, Ekurhuleni was rushed to hospital and discharged after four days. Her attacker was arrested.

Captain Manyadza Ralidzivha said the accused made her first appearance in court on Tuesday and was kept in custody.

Patrons at the tavern tried to find the piece of her ear but were not able to find it. They said they weren’t sure if the woman swallowed it or not.

Anna appealed to medical experts to help fix her ear.

She told Daily Sun she greeted the man because she knew him.

“If I’d known I’d be attacked I would not have said anything. I’m in pain now. I hope that woman goes to jail and learns her lesson.”
