YOU’D think pregnancy was contagious! Nine nurses are all expecting at the same time in one labour and delivery ward at Maine Hospital in Portland, America.

According to CNN, all nine are due to give birth between April and July.

"After each one of us started to say, 'We're pregnant,' I think it was a happier kind of announcement each time, and we're all there for each other," nurse Erin Grenier told CNN affiliate WMTW.

"It is really nice coming to work and seeing other people who are just as pregnant watching their bellies pop and just talking about these experiences that we are going through together," said nurse Amanda Spear.

The hospital announced the happy news on Monday on social media, congratulating the mums-to-be.

It also told those who are concerned there’ll be no nurses available because they’ll all be on maternity leave: "Don't worry! We have a plan."
