THE BRUTAL murder of an 80-year-old man on Christmas day has left a village in southern Uganda reeling in shock.

According to Daily Monitor, Joseph Sonko was brutally attacked in his home in Byabuku village in Buikwe District.

The motive for the attack was unclear, but the report states that the madala’s body was chopped into pieces. His head, hands, intestines and private parts were found stashed in a plastic bag.

Five people have since been detained in connection with the horrific murder.

Ssezibwa Region cop spokeswoman, Hellen Butoto was quoted in the story as saying: “We have five suspects following the brutal murder of that 80-year-old man and these suspects, who are all from the same village, will help us with our investigations.”
