Boitumelo Defoe says Doris stole her husband, Sello.

THE makhwapheni arrived at his girlfriend’s house, only to find her in bed with her husband.

When the angry lover started breaking down windows, the woman’s husband stormed out with a spade. Swearing turned into fighting and the husband allegedly hacked his wife’s lover, Sello Defoe (43), to death with the spade.

The wife, Doris Mayimele (49) from Rietvallei in Kagiso told Daily Sun she loved her makhwapheni very much.

“I loved him because he used to make me feel special. He also supported me financially, something my husband couldn’t do,” she said.

Doris said Sello had a wife in White City, Soweto but he left her.

Sello rented a room in Kagiso and Doris often visited him there in the four years they dated.

Doris said she no longer sleeps at her house because she fears Sello’s wife will attack her.

“She came here on Monday and wanted to attack me. She blames me for the death of her husband,” she said.

Sello’s wife, Boitumelo Defoe (42), admitted going to Doris’ house.

“Doris stole my man and he stopped supporting us,” she said.

According to Warrant Officer Solomon Sibiya, the husband who cannot be named and who has a different surnamefrom his wife, has been arrested for murder.

He appeared in court on Monday and will appear again.
