This is after a woman opened a case of assault against her and three others including the popular gqom musician who lives in Durban. Sources said that Babes Wodumo beat the hell out of the woman after Babes accused her of leaking the video to social media.

A video in question is where she is appearing watching news with friends and discussing the assault allegations against Mampintsha real name Mandla Maphumulo.

The source said they accused the woman of taking videos and posts them on social media, to drag Babes' name.

"They were sitting together with this woman discussing Mampintsha and when the video of that scene was leaked, Babes and her three friends accused this woman of being the one who did it.

They then invited her to the guest house in Umbilo and beat her up. But the woman wanted justice and went to open a case of assault at Umbilo  police station," said the source.

KZN police spokesman Jay Naicker confirmed a case of assault was opened. He said that they have not received all the evidence at a time of going to print yesterday. "If we have received the documents, we will forward them to the prosecutor," said Naicker.

He further went on to say "We can confirm that a case of common assault was opened at the Umbilo Police Station yesterday evening. The complainant alleges that on Monday evening she attended a gathering at a guest house in the Umbilo area when she was assaulted by four women, three of whom are known to her, after she got into an argument with one of them. Detectives have been in touch with the accused who cannot be named at this stage. The suspects have indicated through their lawyers that they will be providing police with statements. Statements have yet to be obtained from independent witnesses who attended the event. Once all the evidence has been gathered the docket will be submitted to the NPA."
