HIP hop star Big Zulu and maskandi artist Mthandeni Manqele went head to head on Facebook on Friday.

This after Big Zulu, whose real name is Siyabonga Nene, said he would love for Mthandeni and Khuzani Mpungose to work on his new project. He said he loves maskandi and wished to see the artists working with him.

Mthandeni and Khuzani are big maskandi rivals.

On Friday, Mthandeni wrote on Facebook: “Tell that rapper of God that wishes have killed a cat.”

Big Zulu replied: “Tell that maskandi of God I was referring to a song, not to making peace.”

Mthandeni told Daily Sun he was angry when he saw his name in the same sentence as his rival, Khuzani.

“Big Zulu must know that if he includes Khuzani, our agreement will be over.

“I don’t have any problem working with Big Zulu, but I was angry when he mentioned Khuzani.”

Big Zulu told Daily Sun he thought there may have been a misunderstanding.

“I respect them both. I love their work, so I wish to work with them both, and not to make peace.

“If Mthandeni doesn’t like working with me, I’ll work with Khuzani,” he said.

Khuzani said he doesn’t have a problem working with Big Zulu, even if Mthandeni is on the same song.
