Mzansi’s very own Sjava, real name Jabulani Hadebe, walked away with a BET Award on Sunday in Los Angeles, making the country and the entire continent very proud.
The Ambitiouz Entertainment star took home the award for Viewers Choice Best International Act, for which he was nominated alongside fellow African Niniola of Nigeria and Kwesi Arthur of Ghana.
Dressed in his traditional Zulu attire, the Ngempela hitmaker gave the best possible representation of African culture as he went on stage to accept his award.
“I don’t even know what to say, this really means a lot. Where I’m from you don’t get here, so being here and winning this award will make a lot of people happy back home,” he said after winning the award.
The 29 year old has received a lot of congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities, politicians and his fans across the country.
