BARELY five months after the death of Soul Brothers’ David Masondo, his sons are allegedly at war with each other!
Nkosinathi and Siphamandla Masondo are said to be fighting for their dad’s Joburg house.
The legendary mbhaqanga singer died after a short illness in July.
Sources close to the situation said Nkosinathi is angry because Siphamandla is collecting R16 000 in monthly rent from tenants.
“Nkosinathi questions this action, and he’s angry because Siphamandla collects the money and spends it alone.
“He feels Siphamandla is greedy and unreasonable to waste all the money on lavish things, while their younger siblings need the money for basics,” claimed a source.
Another family insider said Siphamandla has used the rent money to buy a friend a brand new car.
This mole also told the People’s Paper that after the two had engaged in a war of words, Nkosinathi, the elder brother, seized two of his dad’s legal firearms – which makes Siphamandla fear for his life.
A third source commented that the war between the brothers was “disgusting”.
“They’re dragging their late dad’s name through the mud. David worked hard for his money and wealth.
“These children should learn to work for their money as well and stop fighting over what they didn’t work for,” said the source.
When asked for comment, Siphamandla said: “Go back to whoever gave you the information and ask him for comment!”
Nkosinathi had the same reaction when Sunday Sun phoned him for his side of the story.
He said he didn’t want to say anything because it was a private family matter.
All he said before hanging up was: “Yes, there was some misunderstanding.
“But I’m not willing to share any of this with the media.”
