SINGER and Idols SA judge Unathi Nkayi will start her national tour at the Boardwalk Casino in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, on Saturday.
She told SunBuzz that the tour, named after her new album Brave, True and Strong, was a celebration of women, perseverance and the beauty of life.
Ngobile Majozi of the casino said they were pleased to bring Unathi to perform in Port Elizabeth.
“We are delighted to have Unathi, who is originally from the province, perform on our stage. Fans can expect to see her perform songs from her new album.”
Unathi said her new album is joyful, emotional and a breath of fresh air.
“This album is a culmination of everything that is happening in my life.
“If you listen carefully, you will hear me speak about parts of my life that I’ve never shared before.
“I’ve taken control of my life and I know what I want to achieve.
She said the latest single from the album Hallo Sana talks about the plight of a working mother and the pain of having to leave her kids at home while she goes to work to put food on the table.
“This is a song about sacrifice and the joy that comes from giving up a lot just to make sure your kids are happy.
“The single is about the challenges that a lot of women face on a daily basis.
“I have lived this and I’ve seen the joy on my kids’ faces when I come home,” said Unathi.
She said the tour would cover seven cities and six provinces.
- Tickets for the Brave, True and Strong tour are available at Computicket for R150, and will also be available at the door for R200.
