INTERNATIONAL singer Tinashe was impressed by the excited response
from fans at the Mabala Noise after party in Durban this weekend.
The star performed at the Mother Of All Parties event in Durban,
KZN with fellow US singers Chris Brown and Eve.
She told Daily Sun she was surprised by the number
of fans who sang along to almost every song she san.
Tinashe performed a 45-minute set and fans went wild when she sang
her hit 2 On.
Even though her father is from Zimbabwe, she has never been there
and this was her first visit to Africa.
She told SunBuzz: “I am happy to be here and to perform. I love DJ
Black Coffee. His work is amazing and I know him personally.”
She said collaborating with artists from different backgrounds
exposes her to their cultures and helps her get out of her comfort zone.
Tinashe is a great fan of the South African music scene. “Since I
got here I’ve only been listening to local music. I like the drum patterns and
hopefully I can infuse that in my music.”
As this was her first visit to the continent, she brought her
family with her. “I want to go to Zimbabwe. I can’t make it there this time
around, but I will come back to visit and stay a bit longer.”
The singer said she is currently promoting her new single Super
Love, inspired by the highs and lows of life, especially in relationships and
love.
“The song is about when you meet someone for the first time and you
fall for them and it brings out that super love feeling which involves joy,
butterflies and all that good stuff.”
Tinashe added her next album Joyride will be
released in time for our summer. “I’m excited as I put my heart and soul into
it. And to share it with other people is exciting,” she said.
