SAM Mochichila is no longer Thobela FM’s current affairs executive producer.
The Hlokwa La Tsela producer was dismissed with immediate effect on Monday after taking a week’s leave after a disciplinary hearing.
SABC spokeswoman Vuyo Mthembu said: “This was a matter between the SABC and Mochichila, therefore won’t go into the details or comment further.”
Mthembu also didn’t comment if the complaining journalist Lerato Maseogane will be reinstated after she won a case against the producer. The broadcaster launched an investigation after Lerato, who joined the station in 2013, wrote a letter to management complaining about Mochichila.
She said after her contract ended, Mochichila told her top management declined because of financial troubles.
The ANCYL in Limpopo marched to the SABC Polokwane offices after Lerato spilled the beans in her letter.
