POPULAR SABC news anchor Thabile Ngwato is flying from Auckland Park’s nest to pursue new business interests.

Thabile had been with the SABC for the past five years, producing and presenting news.

Some of the news shows she anchored include the late night show called Our World on SABC News.

The most recent was her weekend morning news slot which she co-anchored.

Her last news bulletin presentation was broadcast on Saturday.

Thabile said she was certain that the knowledge she gained while working at the SABC would add value to her future interests.

She said: “I would like to express my gratitude for the knowledge, experience, lessons and professional relationships built up over the years. I am certain that this will add value in my new journey and future as an entrepreneur.”

Head of TV news, Nothando Maseko said Thabile was devoted to her work.

Maseko said: “We are sad to see Thabile leave but we are happy to have had the chance to work with her. She has been an absolute pleasure to work with and as a public service broadcaster we’re happy to have contributed to her career.

“We wish her well.”
