THE Soweto Gospel Choir has won their third Grammy Award.
The choir flew the South African flag high in Los Angeles on Sunday Night when they beat other nominees with their album Freedom.
They were nominated in the Best World Music Category.
The Soweto Gospel Choir was rivaling the likes Seun Kuti, Fatoumata Diawara for Fenfo, Bombino for Deran and Yiddish Glory for The Lost Songs of World War II in the category.
In 2007 they won their first Grammy Award for their second album titled “Blessed”, in the category for Best Traditional World Music.
Following that they won their second Grammy Award for their third album titled “African Spirit”, in the Best Traditional World Music.
