Metro FM DJ Masechaba Ndlovu has received some criticism for the way she “handled” the explosive Babes Wodumo Interview on Friday.

During the interview, it was revealed that Babes had been a victim of abuse leaving many shocked but some not impressed by the manner in which this was brought to light.

However, it appears Masechaba’s employers, the SABC, did not see anything wrong with her actions and have shown their support to The Drive's co-host.

SABC spokeperson Kaizer Kganyago told Isolezwe that Ndlovu was merely doing her job and using the platform given to her to address an important issue.

"Someone told me that they thought Babes Wodumo was ambushed during that interview, I don't know what they're talking about because as media broadcasters you use the opportunity and platform given to ask questions, she used the platform to ask questions pertaining to the issue at hand, it's normal," Kganyago told the publication.

"A few weeks ago we saw people getting killed, if this happens to someone who is famous we must still address the issue at hand," he added.
