accreditation

The 7th annual South African Hip-Hop Awards (SAHHA) have released all the submission details for this year’s awards.

Due to take place in Tshwane on 19 December 2018, the SAHHAs celebrate the greatest achievements within the local hip hop industry over the past year.

As with any other award ceremony, the SAHHAs will only accept entries of work that was done with a certain time period and that meets a certain criteria.

Those wishing to qualify for nomination are advised that only work that was produced and released between 15 September 2017 and 15 September 2018 will be considered.

The submitted work (album/mixtape/video/event/song) must have been released or have occurred in South Africa.

The artist or groups of artists wishing to submit their work must be of South African origin or at least, be in possession of a valid RSA work permit.

Foreign nationals who do hold RSA work permits are also only allowed to submit work that was produced and released in Mzansi during the specified time period.

For hard copy submissions, entrants must produce one correctly labelled envelope containing two physical copies of their CDs, an artist profile as well as a press release.

These may be submitted at the Museum Africa in Newtown, Johannesburg between 8am and 5pm daily.

Alternatively, entrants may also courier their entries to The Franklin Building at 4 Pritchard Street in Johannesburg.

Hopefuls may also submit their work via dropbox by attaching one correctly labelled ZIP file containing digital copies of the artist/group’s work, profiles and press releases.

Submission will run from 03 September until 28 September 2018.

More details on the criteria for all 32 categories are available on the SAHHAs website.
