Local DJ and producer DJ Prince Kaybee has expressed his disappointment at not being part of the impressive Global Citizen Festival which took place yesterday.
Scores of fans flocked the 94 736 capacity stadium to witness history in the making as the first ever Global Citizen Festival took place on African soil.
The line-up included some of the world’s biggest artists in the likes of Beyonce, Jay-Z, Usher, Ed Sheeran, and Chris Martin among others.
Mzansi was also well represented with rapper Cassper Nyovest and Sho Madjozi setting the stage alight with their electrifying performances.
Prince Kaybee, whose real name is Kabelo Motsamai, watched the festival on TV like many other South Africans and couldn’t help but feel disappointed by his omission from the list of performers.
“I watched the GlobalCitizen Concert and not being part of it means I’ve let myself down this year. I lost, I didn’t do enough,” he said on social media.
“But I’m too competitive to sit back, let me work harder next year. Shout out to artists that had 2018 on lock. Salute.”
In their attempt to cheer him up, his fans reminded the DJ that he had “the biggest song in the country” in Banomoya in which he featured Busiswa and TNS.
