ALTHOUGH his job requires him to bust thugs, gospel star Thulani “Ga” Ndlela also finds time to heal people with his music.
The Crown Gospel award-winning singer who’s been
in the industry for about 10 years, has released a new album.
Dabula Amazulu Wehle, which was released in February, was recorded live at KwaMashu Christian Centre, north of Durban, KZN.
He told SunBuzz people who had watched him perform or listened to his music always told him it touched their souls.
Ga said the positive response he had received from people proved that God could use a cop to heal souls and mend broken relationships.
“I work as a cop stationed at the Durban Harbour station.
“But being a cop is my professional job and healing people is my gift from above.
“Many people believe cops are mean people and I think that’s why some of them want to kill us. But they forget that we are also human.
“We have families and we also believe God is the creator of everything,” said Ga.
He said his musical journey had not been easy.
He said he had encountered many challenges which nearly saw him leave the industry.
“When I spoke to other gospel musicians, they encouraged me to not give up so I picked myself up and here I am now.”
Ga said he believed studying music helped people understand the techniques and the business side of it.
“I studied music at Natal Technikon, which is now known as Durban University of Technology. I wanted to understand music first before I made a career in it.”
His previous albums include Sewakhile, which was released in 2016 and Welcome To The Altar, released in 2014.
His new album is available in stores and on online music platforms.
