Local actor Nkosinathi 'Nay Maps' Maphalala has opened up about some of the ills of the entertainment industry in Mzansi.

The Uzalo star revealed that things are not as they seem in the industry and that people don’t really show their true motives.

"Unfortunately, there is a lot of pretending in this industry,” Nay Maps told TshisaLIVE.

“People actually smile with you just because they want something from you or speak ill of you behind closed doors and pretend y'all are fine in front of other people. Or  they wish bad things for you to a point where people go find muthi to make sure that others don't succeed."

The star claims the industry is filled with so much pretence, some celebs go as far as leading fake lives just to live up to expectations they create for themselves.

"People, even your so-called celebs, have to realise that everyone is walking their own journey,” he told the publication.
