Local Comedian Mpho “Popps” Modikoane has landed a new gig on Mzansi Magic’s new show Spirit of Mzansi.

The show will see eight South Africans battle it out in the new Volkswagen Amarok Extreme, for a chance at bagging the massive R 250 000 grand prize.

The show is brought by Mzansi magic in partnership with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and will feature two teams of unlikely companions who will battle it out in races that will put their driving skills to the ultimate test.

In the powerful 3.0 V6 Amarok Extreme, teams will be racing to the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban and every evening these teams will be forced to vote out one of their team members until only one is left and crowned the winner.

Modikoane has previously hosted a similar show on etv when he was the co-host of reality competition series So You Think You Can Spin, in which contestants competed to win the title of the country's best spinner.

Spirit of Mzansi will premier on the 18th of August on Mzansi Magic.
