There’s nothing Mpho Sebeng loves more than being in front of a camera.
The 25-year-old actor and TV presenter from Witpoortjie in Roodepoort, Gauteng is widely known for portraying Siso Ledwaba in Zero Tolerance and Slay in Soul Buddyz.
Mpho is currently part of the cast of the Mzansi Magic drama series Ring of Lies, where he plays the role of an up and coming boxer called Neo.
He said: “Neo’s parents don’t support his dream of becoming a boxer, so he runs away to work towards becoming a boxing champion.”
He told SunBuzz he has been acting for more than 10 years.
“When I was 12 years old, my mum’s friend spotted me in a school play and encouraged me to keep acting.
Mpho was also the presenter of a weekly show on eTV called Shiz Niz.
He left the hip hop show in 2015 to pursue other interests in the media industry.
Mpho said meeting musician and actress Jennifer Hudson was one of the highlights of his career.
He met her on the set of Winnie Mandela, when he portrayed 1976 Soweto student leader Tsietsi Mashinini.
When he is not in front of the camera, the actor enjoys doing behind the scenes work such as writing, taking photographs and directing.
His dream is to play a major role in the growth of the film industry in South Africa.
He urged young people who want to act on television to give it their all and go to as many auditions as possible.
Mpho said it was time for him to master his craft and learn more about the film industry.
“I want to break barriers and become the best version of myself.”
