SINGING sensation Mmatema Moremi is riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave.
The 26-year-old from Zebediela in Limpopo found fame as the 2015 Idols SA runner-up.
She is set to host her very own gospel show, Gospel Unplugged, which will air next Sunday at 5.30pm on SABC 1.
She described her show as a talk and life-style programme that plays contemporary urban music.
“It brings together people who love and knows God from all different walks of life,” said Mmatema.
“The show will accommodate everyone. People will get to listen to different music genres such as hip hop, kwaito and contemporary urban gospel.
“It also serves as a platform for prominent and up-and-coming artists.”
Mmatema told SunBuzz having her own show means a lot to her.
“Hosting this show is a blessing and testimony because I never went to auditions. I believe the show will open more doors for me.”
Mmatema said her years of hard work have finally paid dividends.
“The fact that the show is about music and is presented by a musician will bring more fun and benefits to viewers,” she said.
“I always wanted to see myself on TV. I will cherish this moment for the rest of my life,” she said.
Mmatema has recently released a single, Ke Lerato.
It is available for download on all digital music platforms.
