Local television sensation, The Queen Mzansi has become renowned for keeping viewers glued to their screens night after night.

And despite the production’s incredible story-telling technique that has kept fans mesmerized, it is also their ability to unearth and introduce new talent to the mainstream.

And one such new talent, is Lunathi Mampofu.

Having made her debut on the show just two weeks ago, Lunathi is all set to shake things up.

Lunathi is an actress from East London who plays the character of Benni, a young woman who joins the notorious drug business.

Fans may also recognize Lunathi from her work as Zikhona Sebotsane on season 1 and 2 of SABC 1’s Ingozi as well as from several TV commercials.

And yes, she is the sister of popular actor, Oros Mampofu.

"I am very excited about Benni and playing her brings me so much joy. I studied acting both in South Africa and in America, I am a trained actor and to get this opportunity to showcase my talent makes me very happy and fulfilled,” says Lunathi.

She also says that her wide range of experience in the industry has afforded her the ability to approach her work with great skill.

“I always give my all to every role [that] I get. Working with the Fergusons is one of my dreams coming to life, I am grateful,” said the uber styling breakout star.

Catch Lunathi on The Queen every weeknight on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161) at 21:00.
