LUNGSTA Fame wants his name to be remembered for a long time.
The 29-year-old from Vosloorus, Ekurhuleni, is a rapper and businessman.
He told SunBuzz he was turning old songs into turn-up tracks.
“I want my name to be remembered for many years in the music scene,” he said.
Lungsta, whose real name is Lunga Mthimbe, broke into the music scene in 2008 when he was member of a group called Abathakathi.
He then went solo and released the single Umona in 2013.
The single earned him two nominations for best hip hop song of the year and hip hop artist of the year at the 2013 South African Hip Hop Awards.
In 2016, Lungsta released a single called Phuma.
The track was followed by Phuza, a song Lungsta said dealt with the issue of alcohol abuse in kasis.
“One of the things that prevents progress in our kasis is that most people drink every day and forget that they have to go out there and hustle,” he said.
Lungsta told SunBuzz his next single, Ebusuku, will be released soon.
The music video will be released on the same day as the single.
He has shared the stage with artists such as HHP, Tuks Senganga and Khuli Chana.
