Dawn Thandeka King has become a household name. She is best known for her role as Lindiwe Xulu in the popular SABC 1 soapie Uzalo.

Her beautiful, commanding voice can now be heard on radio. She is the new Breakfast Show co-host on Vuma FM, a Zulu language commercial radio station based in Durban.

She sits alongside radio veteran, Makhosi Khoza during the week from 6 to 9am.

The talented actress from Eshowe in KZN told SunBuzz: “Being on one of the most respected radio stations in the country helps me express another side of being an artist. Art is my life and I believe that it involves many things, not just acting, singing or dancing.

“Every artist knows that they must not limit themselves. Only the sky is the limit for the dedicated artist.”

Thandeka is also a singer and an actress, and everything she touches seems to turn to gold.

She said she landed the job after visiting the station for a live interview and the listeners loved her voice.

“They convinced the management that my voice fitted perfectly for the morning show. I believe that they got me a job,” said Thandeka.

She said she easily manages her busy schedule.

“I schedule my time properly. I love to keep myself busy all the time and also spend time with my family. It is a beautiful experience.”
