Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Lexi Van Niekerk wants to lose the 'reality star' tag that seems to follow her around everywhere she goes.

Lexi came into the entertainment industry as a reality show star on Big Brother Mzansi back in 2014 and she went on to date the show’s winner Mandla Hlatshwayo.

However, that is not all she wants to be known for and she revealed on Massiv Metro that she has her own skills that people need to start recognising her for.

"I want to break away from that. Because a lot of people don't know what I am about right now. I was just that girl who did a reality show and went on to date the reality show winner and that's all I ever was to the industry. Whatever gigs I did after that were always overshadowed by that and I want to change that."

In her efforts to branch out into other things and leave her ‘reality star’ tag behind, Lexi went back to school and  is now a qualified fitness trainer with a certificate in Group Fitness instructor.
