Lerato Kganyago has bid farewell to SABC1’s Live Amp.

LERATO Kganyago is Project Runway SA’s host!

This was announced last night at an exclusive event held at the Crowne Plaza in Rosebank, Joburg.

Lerato initially denied this when the People’s Paper broke the story last month.

Already an international sensation, her reality TV show will be broadcast in Mzansi for the first time, making Lerato South Africa’s first host.

Twelve designers will be vying for their big break.

The show is brought by Ndalo Media Pictures, in association with 4th STREET wine.

The award-winning host bid farewell to SABC1’s music show Live Amp to join the new show to be broadcast on Mzansi Magic.

The Soweto-born entertainer said she felt as though it was the perfect time to use her previous experience and expertise in something new.

“I’m looking forward to instilling that knowledge in the contestants as they embark on this exciting journey.

“I also look forward to being part of the trailblazing production that’s giving emerging design talent time to shine,” she said.

“Something is gratifying about helping uncover the new fashion stars of tomorrow, and giving them the platform to show South Africa what they’re made of.”

Lerato’s role includes nurturing the contestant’s talent while award-winning designer Gert-Johan Coetzee will mentor them.

Also on the judging panel are fashion icon Noni Gasa and top designer Rahim Rawjee.
