Rapper Kwesta, real name Senzo Vilakazi, is the epitome of perseverance and hard work paying off.

The 29 year old, with all his talent, arguably did not make an immediate impact when he broke into the industry a number of years ago.

However, with time his consistency has seen him catapult to the very top of the music industry, certainly the rap game.

The rapper recently took to Twitter to announce that his album Dakar II has been certified 7x platinum, making it the most successful Hip Hop album ever in Mzansi in terms of sales.

It just so happened that the Spirit hit-maker had also just reached seven hundred thousand twitter followers.

“Want to say thank you to each & every one of my SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND FOLLOWERS @Twitter old & new! I take it as a SIGN that this milestone coincides with RiSA declaring DaKAR II is now SEVEN TIMES PLATINUM, making it SA HIP HOP’s all-time best selling album,” he tweeted.

This means that Kwesta’s album sold 210 000 units since RISA indicates that platinum is equal to 30 000 units and DAKAR II sold seven times that number.
